Helen Dyeann Gillard Prather, the eldest of three children, was born on December 3, 1953 to the late Marian Gillard, better known as Mary Ann Gray. On January 24, 2024, she peacefully departed to be with her Heavenly Father, concluding a prolonged illness at Diversicare Nursing Home in Ripley, MS.
Dyeann was a longtime resident of Tiplersville, MS and a graduate of Walnut High School in Walnut, MS. At an early age, she professed her faith in Christ by becoming a member of Ball Hill M. B. Church. There, she was a long standing anddevoted member until her health declined. She shared a beautiful and enduring marriage with her spouse, Henry Ford Prather.
Dyeann, though quite reserved, enjoyed connecting with her neighbors and friends. Timber Hills Mental Health Social Clubhad a special place in her heart. There, she discovered the joy ofknitting, painting and playing bingo games, and later developed sewing as one of her hobbies. She also enjoyed being actively involved in her church, relishing the opportunity to read scriptures aloud and deliver speeches. Her unwavering love for God served as the guiding light that sustained her throughout her life. She will be remembered by her willingness to share love and spread God’s love to others.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Marian Gillard; one brother, Larry Gray; and her loving husband, Henry Ford Prather.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving sister, Virginia, of Ripley, MS; three nephews, Edward Anderson(Amanda) of new Albany, MS; Brian Anderson(Nicole) of Ecru, MS; Jonathan Anderson(Danielle) of Ripley , MS; one niece, LasonyaAnderson(Donnell) of Tupelo, MS; five great nieces, six great nephews, several stepchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
