Opal Kay Ragston Campbell was born at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston, Texas on March 18, 1967.

She married Garfield Campbell and to this union 3 sons were born: Garfield Campbell, Jr., Garfield Campbell, 111, and Lester D.N. Campbell.. Opal moved to Ripley July 2, 2007 and joined Rock Hill M.B. Church. Opal was the life of the party and she always said what was on her mind. She never met a stranger. She passed away on Christmas Day, 2023 at Diversicare in Ripley, MS.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Evelyn Jean Ragston and Lester
William Ragston; 2 sons: Garfield Campbell, Jr. and Garfield Campbell, 111; three brothers:Russell Ragston, Nathanel Wade and Lester Wade.

She leaves to cherish her memories a son: Lester D.N. Campbell; 3 sisters: Sandra Routt, Shelia Trahan and Alice Ragston; 1 brother-in-law: Alvin Hymes; 1 grand baby: Layani Nia Campbell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
