Life began for Robert Lanlie Brooks on February 25, 1964 in Ripley, Mississippi to Bileto and the late Patsy Ann Cox-Brooks. He departed this life on Friday, March 29, 2024 at his residence in Ripley, Mississippi.
He was joined in holy matrimony in 1996 to the late Brenda Brooks and one son was born to this union and together they also raised her oldest son.
He leaves to cherish his memories; father, Bileto Brookes; mother-in-law, Annette McDonald (Ripley, MS); one son, Rafael “Roc” McDonald; six grandchildren, Raven “Tootie” Batie, Taziyah “Taz” & Nykedrick “Nyke” Agnew, Chosen and Peyton McDonald, Royalty McDonald; three great grandchildren, Sierra & Tierra Batie, Kadence “Kade” Agnew; four brothers, Joseph Brooks, Tracy (Cotina) Brooks, Stacy (Lanedra) Brooks, Chris (Gloria) Brooks; four sisters, Charlene Brooks, Shelia Brooks, Jennifer Brooks, and Norlene Green; five sister-in-laws, Elaine (Warren) Riddle, Jona Woods, Rita McDonald, Demetria “Kally” McDonald, and Mary “Baba” (Calvin) Finger; two brother-in-laws, Kirk (Marlea) McDonald, Derric McDonald; one aunt, Brenda Johnson; one uncle, Gus Johnson; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Ann Cox-Brooks; wife, Brenda Brooks; son, Dectrick “Red” McDonald; sister, Opal Lubin; brother, Randy Brooks and Roy Bell; and grandparents.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 5, 2024 from 12p-6p at Foster & Son Funeral Home, Ripley, MS and Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 9a-11a at Foster & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Ripley, MS. Service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024, 11a at Foster & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Ripley, MS. Interment will follow at White Oak Cemetery, Ripley, MS.
